Royal Academy of Engineering and Amazon Announce 15 New Amazon Future Engineer Scholarships
The Royal Academy of Engineering, in collaboration with Amazon, has awarded 15 new Amazon Future Engineer Scholarships to support women from low-income households pursuing computer science and related engineering degrees at UK universities. Each scholarship provides £5,000 annually for up to four years, assisting with tuition fees, accommodation, and living expenses. This initiative aims to address the underrepresentation of women in engineering and technology sectors, where women constitute only 19% of accepted applications for engineering and computing degrees. Since its inception in 2021, the programme has awarded over £1 million in bursaries, supporting 75 women in STEM-related studies. Applications for the 2024/25 academic year are now open.
